BLVD Gallery is proud to present She's So Popular/ He's a Freakin' lunatic, a show of new works by California based artists Freddi C and Joshua Krause. Both of these artists had extraordinary years for 2006 and are keeping up the hard work for an even stronger 2007. Freddi C who is originally from London, England but has made Los Angeles her home for the past seven years maintains a crisp Design style to her culturally informed paintings. For this show Freddi has decided to feature the gulliest of color combinations that scream South Beach meets Liberty City and imagery associated with that fabled icon of Hip Hop culture, The Around the Way Girl. Joshua Krause lives in San Diego, and he uses paintbrushes, sandpaper, his hands, and yes, sometimes even his mouth to give his paintings an organic, living feel. Joshuas inky swirls have a natural grace that recall aboriginal art but with a streetwise sensibility. His paintings and sculptures are manifestations of an obsession, humor, and hope in finding his individual path in a world that seems to be on another page.
