BLVD Gallery is proud to welcome Internationally acclaimed street artist David Choe for his first solo exhibition in the Pacific Northwest. David is one of the most diverse and prolific artists working today. One of the youngest artists to ever have a solo show at the MOCA. He has had his art shown on every surface from canvases to human bodies, to third world war torn walls, his art can be found in every facet of society, from galleries ,museums, t-shirts, shoes, movies, billboards, cars, murals, buildings, from New York city to the Congo, Africa to everywhere in between. Davids personality and work is often at odds with the polite conventions of the art world, crossing the artificial boundaries that seperate fine art from street art. He has designed and created murals, movie sets, movie posters, album covers, shoes, t-shirts, toys, calendars, commercials, cars, magazines, books, illustrations for porn and childrens story books, comics, and animation approaching each project with the same level of genius and the boundless energy that he has become known for. Over the course of his career, David Choe has become as known for his personal exploits as his artwork. Davids approach to life, like his art, is one in which no apologies are made. This lust for life has made him the subject of a documentary, Dirty Hands ,that is currently in production and slated for release in 2007.
